We can probably sum this up in two words: Anibal Sanchez. The Nationals' starter is 0-5 with a 7.20 ERA, a 1.60 WHIP, 14 walks, 22 strikeouts and 10 homers allowed in 30 innings of work this season. Washington just lost two of three to the Cubs at home and now have to face San Diego on the road. That starts with facing Yu Darvish, who has been ridiculous at Petco Park this season. Darvish took the loss in his last start, which was against the Nationals on the road as he fell apart in the sixth while still striking out nine. At home however, Darvish is 6-1 with a 2.17 ERA, a 0.81 WHIP, 14 walks and 67 strikeouts over 66.1 innings of work. The Padres are ready to try and make a run to lock down their spot on the right side of the playoff cut line. Facing a doormat like Washington can only help. Darvish deals and the Padres open the series with a win.
