The Phillies won their fifth in the row by taking the opening game of the Keystone State series with the Pirates 7-4 Friday night. Philadelphia continues to improve their position in the postseason field by actually beating the scrub teams that they should knock off. The Pirates send Tyler Beede to the hill here and he's struggled in the month of August. He's allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 16 hits with seven walks and eight strikeouts over 12 innings in his four starts this month. The Pirates have scored just one run total in his last three starts. Philadelphia is rolling right now and welcomed back Bryce Harper Friday, adding another power bat to their lineup. Kyle Gibson isn't an ace or even a #2 starter but he's a capable #3 type of guy that can eat innings and keep you in the game.
