Rutgers Scarlet Knights -18
(NCAAF) Rutgers vs. Temple,
Point Spread: -18.00 | -110.00 Rutgers (Away)
Result: Loss
Now, when you look at this, the first thought in your head is: who the hell favored Rutgers by 18 points? Well, this isn't your normal Rutgers team as Greg Schiano has the team playing well in the early going. The Scarlet Knights rallied to beat Boston College 22-21 on the road as a nine-point underdog in their opener before destroying Wagner 66-7 last week, covering a 48.5-point line in the process. Meanwhile, we're looking at a Temple team that was blanked on the road by Duke of all teams in their opener. Sure, the Owls won last week but they beat Lafayette, a FCS program, 30-14 in a game where they had not one, not two, but THREE blocked punts. Two of those set them up inside the Lafayette 35-yard line and led to touchdowns while the third was blocked out of the end zone for a safety: that's your margin of victory. Rutgers has been good in the first two weeks and seeing how Temple needed massive special teams success to beat a FCS school, the Scarlet Knights should roll here.
