Ohio State Buckeyes -19.5 (-110)
(NCAAF) Wisconsin vs. Ohio State,
Point Spread: -19.50 | -110.00 Ohio State (Home)
Result: Win
Wisconsin is an excellent defensive team so far as they are 9th in the FBS in scoring defense by allowing eight points a game. The problem for the Badgers is that facing teams like Washington State, New Mexico State and Illinois State doesn't even move the needle compared to taking on an Ohio State offense that is loaded with talent at every position. Ohio State is coming off a 77-point performance against Toledo last week at home and, after the defensive struggle with Notre Dame in the opener, has hung 122 points in their last two games. That's burning out a lot of lights on the scoreboard at the Horseshoe. The Buckeyes are 8th in the FBS in passing yards per game (358.3), 27th in rushing offense (207 yards per game) and 10th in scoring offense (47.7 ppg) on the year. Wisconsin may be 2-1 but Graham Mertz is prone to committing turnovers and the offense is very methodical, to the point of being plodding. The Badgers can't rely on the three yards and a cloud of dust offense to keep them in the game against an Ohio State team that can stop them defensively while moving the ball seemingly at will. If this game was in Madison, it would be one thing, but playing in Columbus tilts the field all the way away from the Badgers and toward the Buckeyes. Ohio State wins this one in a rout.
