Due to Hurricane Ian, this game was moved to a neutral field as it will take place at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton. South Florida gave Florida all they wanted in the swamp a couple of weeks ago only to follow that up by getting slaughtered 41-3 by a middle of the road Louisville team on the road last week. The Bulls now have to contend with an East Carolina team that comes in 2-2 but their losses have come by a combined four points. The Pirates lost their opener by one point to NC State at home before they fell in overtime last week to Navy, 23-20. South Florida has been gashed defensively, ranking 121st in the FBS in total defense by allowing 467 yards per game. That includes being fourth-worst in the nation in run defense by allowing 246.5 yards per game on the ground. Throw in that they are 116th in scoring defense by allowing 35.5 points per game while coupling that with an offense that stands 104th in scoring offense (23.5 ppg) and 118th in passing offense and the Bulls don't have enough weapons on either side of the ball to hang in here. East Carolina wins by a couple of touchdowns to get back in the win column.
