(MLB) Houston vs. NY Mets,
Money Line: -130.00 Houston (Away)
Result: Win
We've seen the Astros have the Mets' number in the last week-plus as they swept a two-game set at Minute Maid Park last week. Houston followed that up with a 9-1 demolition of the Mets at Citi Field Tuesday night behind Framber Valdez's work on the mound. Now, New York has to deal with Justin Verlander, who is in the short list of candidates for AL Cy Young candidates as the calendar nears the start of July, not to mention a virtual lock for AL Comeback Player of the Year. Verlander is an impressive 9-2 with a 2.22 ERA, a 0.873 WHIP, 16 walks and 84 strikeouts over 89.1 innings of work. While Taijuan Walker has been solid in winning his last three starts, the fact remains that the Mets have been outscored 22-6 in the three meetings this season by Houston. It's tough to rattle Verlander, who has seen and done it all. Look for the Astros to get the win ahead of heading home to face the Yankees again after a hotly-contested series last weekend.
