Result: Win
Colorado is the defending Stanley Cup champion and you know they are going to be amped up with the raising of their championship banner for this one. Sure, Darcy Kuemper left via free agency but they now have Alexandar Georgiev to pair with Pavel Francouz between the pipes. The Avalanche likely won't have Gabriel Landeskog for this one as he deals with a lower-body injury but we know how explosive the Avalanche can be offensively. Chicago was active in the offseason as they brought in Max Domi, Colin Blackwell, Andreas Athanasiou to the forward group along with goaltenders Petr Mrazek and Alex Stalock. The Blackhawks traded Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach while Dylan Strome left via free agency. It's going to take some time for Chicago to put things together and facing a dominant team like Colorado, especially in the Mile-High City, is a bad matchup for Luke Richardson and the Blackhawks. Take the Avalanche as they roll to a win in the series opener.
