LA won five in a row before resting most of its players in its regular season finale. LA has a solid defense, ranked seventh overall.
Edmonton finished by winning seven of eight. The Oilers have had no issues scoring this year, averaging 3.48 GPG.
The big problem for the Oilers though has been on the defensive end where they concede 3.06 GPG, ranked 18th.
The Oilers have plenty of offensive talent, but until this team gets real goaltending and addresses some issues on the backend, I think Edmonton's well-documented playoff failures are going to continue this season.
This Game 1 is going to be ultra competitive and because of that, I'm laying the price for the extra 1.5 goals of insurance.
