This is a 10* PAC 12 GAME OF THE YEAR on Colorado.
The Colorado Buffaloes are 1-6. They're not going to be invited to a Bowl this season, but they'll try their best here to play spoiler for 2-5 Arizona. The likelihood of the Sun Devils running the table is beyond slim anyways, but the Buffs will do their best to deal ASU's remote chances one final blow here today.
The Buffs lost 42-9 to Oregon State last weekend, while ASU lost a heart-breaker to Stanford by a score of 15-14. Can anyone say mental letdown spot here this weekend? Especially on the road, and as a heavy favorite.
After firing Herm Edwards, the Sun Devils did manage to somehow upset No. 21 Washington, but they quickly returned to mediocrity after last week's setback. QB Emory Jones had 1,347 passing yards, five TD's and four INT's.
Colorado has been poor, but it has nothing to lose here except another game. The defense allows 473.3 yards per game. The offense averaves 286.1 yards per game. RB Deion Smith leads the way offensively, with 243 rushing yards. Owen McCown is listed as questionable under center, but is expected to play.
I think Arizona State comes in complacent here. It has virtually no shot now at a Bowl game, and after a huge upset, it's coming off a heartbreaking loss.
Colorado has plenty of issues, but I think it'll relish playing the role of spoiler here. The play is the BUFFS.
Good luck, NP
