It's No. 7 Notre Dame facing off against No. 8 Ohio State in the National Championship Game, and we're anticipating a much tighter, and ultimately lower-scoring battle than what this O/U line and spread are suggesting.
Notre Dame bent, but didn't break in its 27-24 win over Penn State, while Ohio State beat No. 5 Texas 28-14.
The Longhorns were undone by a costly turnover, but otherwise played Ohio State incredibly well defensively, and we believe has given the blue print to the Irish on how to attack this incredible Buckeyes offense.
Note that the Irish are 2-0 ATS as a dog this year, and 6-1 ATS in games decided by seven points or less.
These teams are familiar with each other, as they played a home and home set in 2022 and 2023. Ohio State pulled off a "nail-biting" 17-14 win at Notre Dame in 2023.
Notre Dame's defense is incredibly adept at forcing turnovers, 32 overall, which ranked No. 1 in the country.
