I’m on the Bucks -3.5 on the road vs the Pistons in this NBA Cup matchup for these reasons:
- Bucks have beaten the Pistons by an average of 10.5 points in their last 4 meetings in Little Caesars Arena.
- Bucks usually struggle against good 3pt shooting teams. Pistons are a middle of the road team from deep, and don’t shoot enough per game for me to be afraid of the bucks weakness being exploited.
- The road to this game from the beginning of the tournament was much harder for the Bucks, having to play Indiana and Miami before this game, while the Pistons struggled to get past the raptors before handling the Pacers who I think was a better matchup for them due to the lack of veterans on the Indiana roster.
- Pistons are averaging 16 turnovers per game. The bucks are a team that don’t turn the ball over near as much, and that category could lead to an early or late lead if the Pistons don’t keep the margin low.
- The bucks are not as defensively savvy as the past, but they aren’t making things easy for opponents, and won’t for a pistons team that is only averaging 109 points per game. I like that this number is under 5, as I do see it being a close game, but we have to play this number with the Bucks.
Official Play: Bucks -3.5
Side Bet: Cade Cunningham over 8.5 assists
Hail Mary: Damian Lillard over 34.5 Points & Assists
