Winnipeg opened the season with a 27-12 loss at home against the team they lost the Grey Cup to last season the Montreal Alouettes. Winnipeg’s offense looked awful and Winnipeg’s defense looked shaky.

Ottawa finished their season 4-14 last season. They started the season 3-3 but then their season fell apart. Ottawa made a lot of changes in the offseason. Ottawa added Star WR Dominique Rhymes from BC and got the top QB on the market in Dru Brown from Winnipeg. Ottawa added multiple defensive guys to improve their defense which included All Star defensive back Adarius Pickett.

These teams faced each other once last season in Ottawa where the REDBLACKS shocked everyone with a 31-28 win over Winnipeg in a game where the REDBLACKS were a similar spread to this game. Ottawa has covered +7.5 in the last 3 meetings between the teams.

Winnipeg has to play better then their week 1 performance but will have to do it without their star RB the best RB in the CFL and this Ottawa team is rested and have improved a lot from last season. I like Ottawa to keep this game close and cover the spread.
