The Rays are coming into this game playing very well in their recent games as they are starting to heat up again and trying to catch the Orioles in 1st place of the AL East now. They have won 4 of their last 5 games with most of those coming against the Astros and Yankees so they should have no problem beating up on this Tigers team that has been struggling all season. They are going up against a Tigers team that has not been playing well recently either as they have lost 3 of their last 4 as well as 7 of their last 9 games. Aaron Civale is making his debut for the Rays here and he is 5-2 with a 2.34 ERA this season. He has been pitching very well all season as well as in his recent starts as he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in each of his last 6 straight starts, allowing just 1 earned run or less in 4 of those. He has also been very good in his road starts as he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in all 6 of his road starts this year and has not allowed more than 4 earned runs in any of his starts this year, allowing 4 earned runs just twice in his 13 starts this season. The Tigers have one of the weaker offenses in the MLB and they are going to struggle to score here with how good Civale has been as well as the rest of the Rays pitching staff. Tarik Skubal is starting for the Tigers here and he is 1-1 with a 4.57 ERA this season. He has not been great in his starts this season as he has only made 5 this year and he has allowed 4 earned runs or more in 2 of his last 3 starts. He allowed 4 earned runs in his last start against the Marlins and he is going to allow runs here since the Rays have one of the better offenses in the league and they have been starting to score a lot more runs recently as well. The Rays will continue to roll here and they will win this game.
