West Ham is coming into this match off of a 1-1 draw away from home against Bournemouth to start their season and it was a match they were outplayed in as well. They lost a big key piece in the transfer window with Declan Rice leaving but that is more so going to affect their defense as he is a very good defensive player. Now West Ham is going to be back at home here for their opening home match of the season and they should give a much better effort being at home here. They are going up against a Chelsea side that is also coming off of a 1-1 draw in their 1st match of the season, drawing at home with Liverpool, but Chelsea is going to have a much better team this season as they were in the bottom half of the table last year. Chelsea has sold a lot of their players and have more of a direction for this team now and they will be very focused on their league matches this year as they are not in any competitions other than the cups. They also played very well in that match at home against Liverpool as they were the better team and they will have a much easier time scoring goals in this match with the West Ham defense in a weaker place than it was last season. Chelsea was able to produce a lot of scoring chances in that match and they are going to capitalize in this match as they search for their 1st win of the season, but West Ham is no pushover at home either and they are still going to put up a good fight in this match with their potent attack that did not lose many pieces. Between these two sides, there will be enough goals in this match to push it over 2.5 goals.
