The Brewers are coming into this game playing very well recently as they have won their last 8 straight games and their offense has been heating up a lot in that span. They have scored at least 5 runs in each of their last 8 games and they have scored at least 7 runs in 4 of their last 5 games. They are going up against a Cubs team that has also been playing very well recently as they have won 4 of their last 5 games but they have also been playing against much weaker opponents in that span like the Pirates and the Tigers. Their offense has been good in those games but the Brewers do have one of the best pitching staffs in the MLB with how good they have been over the last few weeks and the Cubs will struggle a lot more to score here against the division leaders. Wade Miley is starting for the Brewers and he is 6-3 with a 3.18 ERA this season. He has allowed 3 earned runs in each of his last 2 starts but he will be hungry to bounce back here with a better performance, especially since he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in 3 of his last 5 starts. He also has a very good bullpen to back him up if he gets into trouble here. Jameson Taillon is starting for the Cubs here and he is 7-8 with a 5.60 ERA this season. He was starting to pitch much better after his rough start to the season but he has begun to unravel once again now in his recent starts. He has consistently allowed at least 2 earned runs in each of his 5 starts this month and he has also allowed at least 4 runs in each of his last 3 starts and he has been pitching much worse in each start. The Brewers are very hot on offense now and they will be able to score runs in this game with the way Taillon has been pitching. The Cubs do not have a consistent bullpen either and the Brewers will be hungry to spread the gap between them in 1st place and the 2nd place Cubs in this series. The Brewers will win this game and keep rolling.
