Virginia Tech is coming into this game off of a loss at home in their last game as they lost 24-17 against Purdue but they were beaten by a better team in that game and will be hungry to bounce back here. Virginia Tech has a very good defense that kept them in that game against Purdue and their defense will definitely make this Rutgers offense struggle as they are not great. They are going up against a Rutgers team that has won their 2 games this season but both of those wins came at home and against bad teams. They beat a very bad Northwestern team in the 1st game of the season as their program was still reeling from a scandal and they followed up with a big win against a bad Temple team. Virginia Tech is going to be the best team they have faced up to this point and their defense will make Rutgers struggle to move the ball. Virginia Tech will be without their starting QB but with the weather conditions in this game, VA Tech will actually have more of an advantage with their mobile backup playing. There is not going to be a lot of points in this game with the defenses and VA Tech will be in this game with a chance to win. Virginia Tech will cover the spread in this game.
