Rutgers is coming off of a season where they finished 19-15 and they are going to be looking to improve this season. They lost some key players in their starting lineup from last season including Cam Spencer, Caleb McConnell, and Paul Mulcahy, but they did retain Aundre Hyatt as well as their leading scorer last year Clifford Omoruyi. They also had some good depth like Mawot Mag who will get more playing time this year and they will be able to fill the holes lost in the transfer portal. They are going up against a Princeton team that finished 23-9 last season as they made a nice run in the NCAA Tournament but they also lost some key players from their starting lineup year. They managed to keep Matt Allocco and Caden Pierce but they lost Keeshawn Kellman as well as their 2 leading scorers in Ryan Langborg and Tosan Evbuomwan, Evbuomwan being the backbone of their team last year. A lot of their bench is the same as last season but these players are also unproven in a starting role and it is much easier for a school like Rutgers to recruit new players and use the transfer portal to replace talent lost than a school like Princeton. Rutgers will come out strong to start the season and they will cover the spread in this game.
