Saint Joseph's is coming into this game with a 1-0 record this season after beating Lafayette 81-60 at home in their 1st game of the season. Saint Joseph's was not a great team last season as they were 16-17 overall and were 8-10 in their conference. They were not great but they were not bad either as they were a very middle of the road kind of team but they will be hungry to improve even more this season, and they should be taking a big step this year as well. Saint Joseph's is returning over 85% of their minutes played as well as over 88% of their scoring from last season and now that they have a whole season under their belt playing together, they will be much better this year as they try to take a step forward and compete in their conference. They are going up against a Penn team that is also 1-0 this season after winning their 1st game of the year against Bucknell 80-61 at home. Penn was a decent team last season as they were 17-13 overall and 9-5 in their conference but this is going to be a much tougher season for them. They performed like that last year with a lot of returning players from the previous year but this season they only have around 40% of their minutes played as well as around 40% of their scoring returning. It is also much tougher for these Ivy League schools to replace talent in the transfer portal so Penn is going to be taking a step back this season. Penn also lost to Saint Joseph's at home by 5 points in OT last year with a much better team but now they are the one's on the road with a worse team than they had last year while Saint Joseph's will be much more improved.
