UMass-Lowell is coming into this game with a 3-0 record this season and they have been playing very well recently. They were a very good team last year as they were 26-8 overall and they are returning over 57% of their minutes played as well as over 60% of their scoring from last year. They did lose their leading scorer from last year but their other 3 starters did return, including their rebound and assist leaders from last season. They are also off to a very hot start this year as they have won 2 of their 3 games on the road with a double digit win over Dartmouth and a 3 point win over Georgia Tech. They are going up against an Arizona State team that is only 1-1 this season already and is not as good as they were last year. Arizona State was 23-13 overall last season but they are only returning less than 30% of their minutes played as well as less than 25% of their scoring from last year. They managed to beat Texas Southern at home by 11 points but they opened their season with a 15 point loss to Mississippi State on a neutral site. Arizona State is not what they were last year and even though they are at home here, scoring has been a bit of an issue for them and that will be a problem with the way UMass-Lowell plays on the defensive end. UMass-Lowell has been hot in their road games to start the season and they are good enough to win this game outright, but they will definitely keep it close at least.
