Northwestern is coming into this game with a 19-8 record this season and they have been one of the better teams in the conference this year at 10-6. They have also been playing well in their recent games as they have won their last 2 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 games. They have not been great on the road recently as they have lost 5 of their last 6 games, but they have been playing much better in their last 4 road games. They won their last game on the road against Indiana and prior to that they only lost by 3 points to Rutgers as well as losing by 9 points to Minnesota and Purdue in games that both went to OT so Northwestern was right in those road games until the end. They are going up against a Maryland team that is 15-13 this season and has not been good in the conference at 7-10. They have not been playing well in their recent games either as they are coming off of a win in their last game, but they have also lost 2 of their last 3 as well as 5 of their last 7 games. They have not been a very consistent team at home either as they have lost 2 of their last 3 as well as 3 of their last 5 games there. Maryland does not have many quality wins in their recent games either as they have only won 4 of their last 11 games in the conference with their wins coming against Rutgers, Nebraska, and Iowa twice, their win over Nebraska at home being their best win in that span. Northwestern has been a much better team this season as they are truly a tournament team this year while Maryland is not and Northwestern will show that in this game. Northwestern is good enough to win this game straight up, but they will also keep it very close within a few points if they do go on to lose. Northwestern will cover the spread in this game.
