Saint Louis is coming into this game with a 12-19 record this season and they are 5-13 in the conference. They have struggled a lot in the conference this season but recently they have been playing much better and have been gaining steam coming into this tournament. They have won 2 of their last 3 as well as 3 of their last 5 games with both of their losses in that span coming at home against Dayton and Richmond who are both 2 of the best teams in the conference this year. They won their last 2 games on the road though as they finished the season with an 8 point road win over St Bonaventure and they also have a 3 point road win over Rhode Island in that span as well. They are going up against a Rhode Island team that is also 12-19 this season and is 6-12 in the conference. Despite being slightly better in the conference this season, they have been awful in their recent games and actually finished the season playing very poorly. They ended the season with an 8 point road win against Fordham in their last game, but that is their only win in their last 8 straight games as they lost 7 straight prior to that. Most of that success came very early in conference play as well as they quickly fell off and ended the conference schedule winning just 3 of their last 15 games. They have also struggled to keep games close recently as 3 of their last 4 losses have been by 10+ points. Saint Louis has not been the stronger team in the conference all season but they have been heating up in their recent games and they definitely have more confidence coming into this game as they have been playing much better.
