The Cubs are coming into this game with a 0-2 record to start the season and they have been outscored 15-5 in their first 2 games. They have not scored more than 3 runs in either game and they are coming off of a game which they allowed 11 runs in as the Rangers offense is starting to heat up now. Jordan Wicks is starting for the Cubs in this game and he has been good in Spring Training as he was 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA, allowing 6 earned runs in a little over 21 innings pitched. He does not have a lot of experience picthing at this level though as this is only his 2nd season pitching in the MLB, and he did not make his rookie debut until very late in the season last year as it was on August 26. He did not finish his rookie season great either as he had a 4.41 ERA and allowed at least 3 earned runs in each of his last 3 starts, allowing 6 earned runs in under 2 innings in his very last MLB regular season start. The Rangers are going to have Jon Gray starting in this game and he has also had a very good Spring Training this year. He was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA as he allowed 0 earned runs in 8 innings pitched. He was also one of their better starters in the rotation last year and he was a big reason why they won the World Series as he pitched very well coming out of the bullpen which is something he is not used to. Gray has been the much better and the more consistent starter as Wicks does not have much experience pitching in the MLB, and the Rangers also have the much stronger offense to lean on as they have been hot. The Rangers will win this game.
