AMEDEUS' MLB DIAMOND DINGER!
(MLB) Toronto vs. Houston,
Money Line: -133.00 Houston (Home)
Result: Win
The Astros are coming into this game with a 1-5 record this season and they are going to be hungry to bounce back here and start winning some games. The Astros were the favorite to win the American League coming into the season and so far they are off to an awful start. They opened up the season by getting swept in 4 games by the Yankees in Houston, then they bounced back with their 1st win of the season in this series opener against the Blue Jays, beating them 10-0, but they followed up with a 2-1 loss in their last game. They were leading 1-0 for that whole game as well, but the Jays scored 2 runs in the 9th inning to win the game. The Astros are going to be hungry to bounce back here after getting robbed of that win late in the game and they are going to be desperate to get back on track at home and get a spark going before heading out on their road trip that starts in Texas. Cristian Javier is starting for the Astros in this game and he is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA this season as he pitched 6 scoreless innings in his 1st start against the Yankees, a series they were swept in. Javier is off to a great start to the season already and he was one of their better starters last season as well. Chris Bassitt is starting for the Blue Jays here and he has not started the season well as he is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA this season. He was not that bad in Spring Training, but he still allowed 11 earned runs in the 23 innings he pitched, and now he has continued that into the regular season as he allowed 4 earned runs in 5 innings against the Rays. Bassitt was not a bad starter last season but he struggled to be consistent at times, especially at the beginning of the season as he allowed 9 earned runs in his 1st start and needed a few starts to get settled into the season. Bassitt is going to give up runs to these Houston bats that are going to be hungry for a win while Javier puts the Astros in the best position to win here with another solid performance. The Astros will win this game.
