AMEDEUS' MLB DIAMOND DINGER!
(MLB) Houston vs. Texas,
Money Line: -102.00 Houston (Away)
Result: Loss
The Astros are coming into this game with a 2-6 record this season and they are coming off of a 10-2 loss against the Rangers in their last game. The Astros have opened this series against the Rangers with a loss, but they finally earned their first 2 wins of the season in their last series against the Blue Jays and they are going to be hungry to bounce back here as they need to start winning some games. Their pitching was awful in that 10-2 loss but they have J.P. France on the mound for this game and they should have a much better day from the bullpen as well. J.P. France is 0-0 with a 4.76 ERA this season as he allowed 3 earned runs in a little under 6 innings pitched against the Yankees in his 1st start of the season. He pitched well in Spring Training as he allowed just 2 earned runs in a little under 6 innings pitched as well. He is only in his 2nd MLB season but he was very good last year as he is coming off of a rookie season which he finished with a 3.83 ERA. They are going up against a Rangers team that is 5-2 this season and they have pitched well in their last 2 games, allowing just 3 runs, but they also allowed at least 5 runs in 2 of their last 3 games just prior to these last 2. The Rangers also have Jon Gray starting here and he is 0-0 with a 12.27 ERA this season. He was great in Spring Training as he allowed no runs in 8 innings pitched, but he got blown up in his 1st start of the season as he allowed 5 earned runs in a little under 4 innings against the Cubs. He was not bad last season as he finished the regular season with a 4.12 ERA, but he was awful in his last 2 starts against the Astros as he allowed at least 5 earned runs in each of his last 2 starts against them, 1 at home and 1 away. The Astros are off to an awful start this season but they are going to get some hits in this game and they will get up for this rivalry after getting blown out on Friday night as well. The Astros will win this game.
