The Kings are coming into this game with a 46-36 record this season and they dominated the Warriors in their last game to keep their playoff hopes alive. They have won their last 2 straight games now with that win against the Warriors in the play-in tournament, but the Kings have still not been playing well in their recent games as they have lost 3 of their last 5 as well as 5 of their last 8 games. They were in a position to avoid this play-in tournament altogether just a few weeks ago but they actually played themselves down the standings in the final weeks and ended up in the 9th seed. They have not been great on the road either as they have lost 3 of their last 4 as well as 4 of their last 6 games on the road and they did have a worse road record this season than they did at home. They are going up against a Pelicans team that is 49-33 this season and they are coming off of a loss in their last game against the Lakers, but they fought very hard in that game to come back down close to 20 points and they made it a game with just a few minutes left. They were not able to get the win in the end with Zion leaving at the 3 min mark, but the Lakers are also a team that they have not matched up well against all season. They are not going to have that issue here though as the Kings are a team the Pelicans have matched up very well against this season. The Pelicans won the last meeting against the Kings just a few weeks ago back on April 11, winning on the road by 12 points, and the Pelicans have actually won all 5 games against the Kings this season. They have won the last 3 straight against the Kings all on the road by 10+ points and they have also won 4 of the 5 games this season by 10+ points, the closest the Kings coming being a loss by 5 points in just 1 game. The Pelicans may be missing Zion Williamson in this game but they still have a lot of bench depth to see them through here and they have also shown many times this season that they can win games no problem without Zion in the lineup. The Pelicans will cover the spread in this game.
