Logan Gilbert is starting for the Mariners in this game and he is 1-0 with a 2.33 ERA this season. He has been very good in his 4 starts this year as he had 1 start which he allowed 4 earned runs in against the Brewers, but he has allowed just 1 earned run in each of his other 3 starts this season. He has pretty much gone 7 innings deep in all 3 of those starts as well, not giving up more than 1 earned run in each of his last 2 starts as well. Gilbert has been a very good starter for them over the last few seasons and with the way the Rangers have been hitting recently, he will be able to shut them down in this game as their bats are not hot and he pitched well against the Rangers last season as well. Dane Dunning is starting for the Rangers here and he is 2-1 with a 3.91 ERA this season. He has not been bad this season but he has also allowed at least 3 earned runs in 3 of his 4 starts this season as well as allowing at least 2 runs in all 4 of his starts. Dunning has not been awful this season but he has consistently been giving up runs which is going to be trouble in this game with the way the Mariners offense has been heating up. The Mariners are going to score runs on Dunning in this game and their bullpen has not been that great in recent games either with the runs they have been giving up. The Mariners have the better pitching here and the hotter offense right now. The Mariners will win this game.
