AMEDEUS' MLB BOOKIE BATTER!
(MLB) San Diego vs. Cleveland,
Money Line: -132.00 Cleveland (Home)
Result: Win
The Padres are coming into this game with a 50-49 record this season, but recently they have not been playing well. They lost 6 of their last 7 games going into the break and their offense has been struggling in those, averaging less than 3 runs scored per game in their last 6. They are going up against a Guardians team that has not been playing that well recently either, losing 4 of their last 5 games going into the break, but they are also 58-37 this season as they have been one of the better teams in the league. Even in their recent losses, they have been pitching very well in low scoring games and that break is exactly what they needed to recharge so they can come out on a run here. Tanner Bibee is starting for the Guardians in this game and he is 7-4 with a 3.77 ERA this season. He has allowed 4 earned runs in each of his last 2 starts, but prior to that he allowed 2 earned runs or less in 3 straight as well as 5 of his last 6. He has been pitching deep into his starts as well while also striking out a lot of batters recently, but he also has one of the better bullpens in the league to back him up here. Matt Waldron is starting for the Padres in this game and he is 5-8 with a 3.71 ERA this season. Waldron has not been having awful starts this season, but recently he has been allowing a lot of runs consistently. He allowed 4 earned runs in his last start and has allowed at least 4 runs in 2 of his last 3 starts, allowing at least 3 runs in each of those. He also has not pitched a start which he allowed no runs in his last 8 straight, and that will be a problem against the Guardians as they do not need many runs to win this game with their great pitching staff. The Guardians are going to win this game at home coming out of the break.
