The Cubs are coming into this game with a 49-56 record this season and they have been playing in a lot of low scoring games recently as their pitching has been good but their offense has been awful. He has been pitching very well in his recent starts as he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 6 of his last 7 starts. He has been pitching very deep into games as well, even pitching all 9 innings in his last start, and he has been much better at home as he has only allowed 1 earned run total in his last 3 starts there. The Cubs offense has already been struggling a lot since coming out of the break and this is not a game they are going to have an offensive explosion in. Shota Imanaga is starting for the Cubs in this game and he is 8-2 with a 2.86 ERA this season. He has been pitching very well all season as he has allowed 3 earned runs or less in 6 of his last 7 starts, and he has only allowed 1 earned run total in his last 2 starts. Imanaga is also a starter that has been pitching deep into games all year so he will take some stress off of the Cubs bullpen in this game. There are not going to be many runs in this game with these two starters pitching deep into the game and that will also mitigate the damage these bullpens can do. This is going to be a low scoring game that stays under the total.
