Point Spread: -2.00 | -110.00 Jayhawks (KAN) (Home)
Result: Loss
TCU is coming into this game with a 2-2 record this season and they have not played well recently as they have lost 2 straight games. They lost 35-34 at home against Central Florida in a game they were up 21-7 at half, blowing a big lead in that game, and now they are coming off of a loss on the road against SMU in their last game, allowing 66 points in a 66-42 loss. They are going up against a Kansas team that is 1-3 this season and they have not played well recently either. They have also lost 2 straight games and blew leads in both of those, losing 23-20 against UNLV and 32-28 against West Virginia in their last game. Now they are back at home and this is a good spot for them to bounce back. Kansas has a very good offense with Jalon Daniels, their passing game is not fantastic but their run game is and that is going to be key for them. They are averaging 238.8 rushing yards per game and 6 yards per carry. This matches up very well against TCU as their run defense has been their biggest weakness this season, averaging 176.8 rushing yards allowed per game. Their pass defense has been much better, but Kansas is not a pass heavy team and they will try to control this game at home on the ground with long drives running the ball, something TCU will struggle to stop. This will open up the passing game for Jalon Daniels as well. TCU has an air raid offense and they have been very good passing the ball this season, averaging 367 passing yards per game and their quarterbacks completing 69% of their passes as well, but Kansas has a good pass defense so TCU will not move the ball easily here. They are only allowing 175 passing yards per game and opposing quarterbacks are only completing 53.8% of their passes against this Kansas defense as well. TCU has also struggled to run the ball on offense this season, averaging less than 100 rushing yards per game, and Kansas has a good run defense as well so TCU is going to be very 1-dimensional on offense which will be easier for Kansas to defend. Kansas will cover the spread in this game.
