(NCAAF) Badgers (WIS) vs. Scarlet Knights (RUT),
Point Spread: -1.50 | -110.00 Scarlet Knights (RUT) (Home)
Result: Loss
Wisconsin is coming into this game with a 3-2 record this season, but they have lost 2 of their last 3 games and have struggled against better defenses. They are coming off of a 52-6 win against purdue in their last game, but Purdue has not played well this season at just 1-4 overall. They only scored 10 points at home against a better defense in Alabama and they even struggled against USC, taking a 21-10 lead in the 1st half but getting shut out completely in the 2nd half to lose 38-21. They are going up against a Rutgers team that is 4-1 this season and they are coming off of their 1st loss of the season. They lost on the road against Nebraska 14-7, but they played well in that game keeping it close and now they are going to be hungry to bounce back at home where they have played great this season. Rutgers has a very good run game this season that is averaging 205.8 rushing yards per game and 5 yards per carry. Wisconsin has not been bad with their run defense as they are averaging 136.8 rushing yards allowed per game, but they are also allowing 4.3 yards per carry so Rutgers is going to move the ball on the ground in this game. That will help Rutgers in the passing game as well. Rutgers also has a very good defense as they have been defending the pass well and their run defense was much better in their last game against Nebraska as well. Rutgers is going to be focused on stopping the run here and that is going to cause problems for this Wisconsin offense that relies heavily on the run. Their starting quarterback, Braedyn Locke, has not been very accurate with his passing this season as he is only completing 55.4% of his passes with 5 TDs and 3 interceptions on the season. Rutgers can rely on their defense to stop the run here at home which will make this a much harder task for this Wisconsin offense and Rutgers will be able to move the ball much better themselves. Rutgers will cover the spread in this game.
