The Chiefs are coming into this game with a 5-0 record this season and their defense has been great this season. They have not allowed more than 17 points in each of their last 3 games, and now they are coming off of their bye. Their offense has not been that great this season though. They have not scored more than 27 points in any of their 5 games this season and they have not scored more than 2 TDs in each of their last 4 games as well. They have only played in 2 road games this season as well and both of those games were their lowest scoring games on offense all season, scoring 22 points against the Falcons and just 17 points against the Chargers. They are going up against a 49ers team that is 3-3 this season and has not been playing great, but they have been getting by despite all of their injuries. They have won 2 of their last 3 games and their offense has scored 30+ points in 2 of those games. They are coming off of a 36-24 win against the Seahawks on the road in their last game and that was a big confidence boost for them as that win put them back on top of the NFC West. That game was also on Thursday last week so they have some extra rest and will be ready to go for this game. The Chiefs have been very good on run defense all season, but the 49ers will find ways to move the ball with Shanahan's run scheme. There has also been some stronger offenses in the league that have been able to throw effectively against this defense, like the Ravens and the Bengals, and the 49ers have plenty of weapons on offense for Purdy to use here. The 49ers are going to be heavily motivated in this game since they lost the Super Bowl to the Chiefs last season so this is their chance to get their revenge at home. Andy Reid historically has been great off the bye week in recent years, but the Chiefs did lose their game coming out of their bye last season and that loss was also the Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles which they lost at home. The Chiefs defense has been the better unit this season compared to their offense, but the 49ers have some weapons to attack this defense and they will make the plays to win this game with the extra motivation. The 49ers will cover the spread in this game.
