The Senators are coming into this game with a 3-2-0 record this season and they have won 2 of their last 3 games as well, but they have also played most of their games at home this season. They have beaten some very good teams at home this year as they play much better there, but their defense has not been good in these games. They have allowed at least 3 goals in each of their last 4 games as well as allowing at least 4 goals in 3 of those. They have also played just 1 road game all season and were awful in it, losing 4-1 to a weaker Canadiens team. That was not much of a travel for them either going to Montreal, but now they are going to be starting their 1st road trip of the season and it starts in the building with the brand new NHL franchise. They are going up against a Utah team that is 4-1-1 this season and have been playing very well recently as they are off to a hot start. They are coming off of a 2-1 win in OT against the Bruins in their last game, a win that snapped a 2 game losing streak, and they have only played 2 games in their new home this season, winning both of those. The offense has been very good as they have scored at least 4 goals in 4 of their 6 games this season, and their defense has been much better at home as well, only allowing 3 goals total between the 2 games. The Senators struggled to score in their only road game this season so goals are not going to come so easily for them on the road here where the Utah defense has played much better. The Sens have also been awful on defense all season and that is going to make a difference here against a Utah team that has been scoring goals. Utah will win this game at home.
