The Nuggets are coming into this game with a 2-2 record this season and they have been playing much better in their recent games. They lost their first 2 games of the season against the Thunder and the Clippers, but now they have won their last 2 straight games and are gaining some confidence. They beat the Raptors on the road in overtime and followed up with another OT win on the road against the Nets in their last game, and even though those are both weaker teams they were facing, they were still able to gut out the wins as good teams usually do and that will spark a run of confidence as they go into a 5 game homestand after this where they can dominate and try to get back on top of the Western Conference. This is going to be a big game for them though and they are going to get up for it since this is still the team that kicked them out of the playoffs last season. They are going up against a Timberwolves team that is also 2-2 this season and they are coming off of a loss in their last game. They lost their 1st game of the season on the road against the Lakers and then followed up with 2 straight wins against weaker teams, the Raptors and the Kings, but now they are coming off of another loss in their last game as they played a stronger team. This was a game they wanted to win as well since the Mavericks were the team that beat them in the Western Conference Finals last season, but they were unable to as they still lost at home by 6 points. The Mavericks dominated the Timberwolves in that series, winning it 4-1, so that was an emotional game to lose and will be tough to bounce back from. Unlike what the Mavericks did, the Timberwolves did not dominate the Nuggets last season as they needed 7 games to win that series in a close battle, and they only won 1 of the 3 home games in it. They also split the 4 meetings during the regular season, including the 2 in Minnesota, so the Nuggets are not going to roll over in this spot and they will surely be playing with revenge on their mind now that they have been playing better recently.
