The Chargers are coming into this game with a 7-4 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won 4 of their last 5 games, but they are coming off of a loss to the Ravens in their last game. They lost to the Ravens 30-23 and that loss is going to take a toll on them as Jim Harbaugh really wanted to beat his brother John, but the team came up short and now they are on a shorter week here with that game being on Monday night. They are going up against a Falcons team that is 6-5 this season and they have not been playing well in their recent games. They have lost their last 2 straight as well as 3 of their last 5 games, but they are coming off of their bye and that was the perfect time for them to regroup. The Falcons only scored 6 points in their last game, but they have had a very strong offense all season as Kirk Cousins has a lot of weapons. The bye week was the perfect opportunity for them to regroup on offense and they will play a much better game here at home against this Chargers defense. The Chargers defense has been one of the better defenses in the league all season, but the last 2 weeks they have not been playing as well. They have allowed 27+ points in 2 straight games now, barely holding onto their lead against the Bengals in the 2nd half and struggling to get off the field on 3rd downs against the Ravens in their last game. These problems on defense have only started popping up now as they have faced 2 of the better offenses in the league the last 2 weeks, but the Falcons also have one of the better offenses with the way Cousins has settled into this system. This is a good spot for the Falcons off the bye while the Chargers are in a bad spot off of a draining loss on a shorter week. The Falcons will cover the spread in this game.
