Utah Valley is coming into this game with a 4-4 record this season and they have not been playing well in their recent games. They have lost their last 3 straight games and this is going to be the last game of a 7 game stretch where they were away from home. They have been struggling in these games and they really struggled in the tournament they played in as they won their 1st game on the 1st day but lost the next 2 games having to play 3 straight days. Now they are coming off of a loss on the road against Stanford in their last game, but Stanford is also a much bigger program so that is not an easy game to play right after a tournament they flopped in. Now they are on the road again here, but they have had some more rest and they are against a weaker team that they will have a better chance against. They are going up against a James Madison team that is 5-4 this season and have been very inconsistent recently. They were a very good team last season as they went 32-4 and were 15-3 in their conference, but now they have a new head coach and are in a bit of a rebuilding year. Last year they started the season 14-0 so this is already a down year for them with their start. They are coming off of a win against East Tennessee State in their last game, winning that game by 10 points at home, but they have not strung 2 wins together this season as all 5 of their wins have been followed by a loss. Their offense has not been that strong recently either, scoring 71 points or less in their last 4 straight games, and they have also been held under 70 points in 4 of their last 8 games. Utah Valley has only scored 63 points in each of their last 2 games, but prior to that they scored 71+ points in 6 straight games as well as scoring 76+ points in 5 of those. They are going to be able to compete with James Madison on offense here and Utah Valley is going to be the hungrier team here as they try to snap their 4 game losing streak.
