Point Spread: -3.00 | -106.00 Kansas (Home)
Result: Win
Illinois lost their defensive coordinator Ryan Walters and that loss showed on the field last Saturday as they struggled against a very good Toledo team. They also lost their RB and have a new QB who looked very shaky at times in week 1. The Rockets were able to run the ball and the Ilini defense struggled to stop the run as they allowed more points in that game then their average per game allowed, last season. Kansas will have QB Jalon Daniels at the helm in this game and he will be able to beat this defense in the air. This is a tough road spot for Illinois so the edge goes to the home team and the better QB and offense.
Illinois against Big 12 conference opponents are 3-7 ATS since 1992. Kansas after 1 or more consecutive straight up wins are 5-1 ATS in the last three seasons. Illinois are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games. Illinois are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games on the road. Kansas are 5-2 SU in their last 7 games at home. Kansas are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games played in September.
Best bet: lay the points with Kansas.
