These two teams represent two of the best defenses in the CFL so points on offense are going to be hard fought. Their last four games have all trended to the Under and the offense in this game is not going to be as dominate. This will be a rock fight as both will run down the clock generating less possessions and drives. Ottawa averages only 23 points per game while giving up just 19 points per average. They defend the run very well and are good at defending the pass. This game will be similar to Montreal’s game against the Elk where that score stayed under as Edmonton’s defense was effective in slowing down Montreal. The Alouettes won’t be able to get too much offense over this Redblacks defense. On the flip side, the Alouettes only allow on average 16 points on defense and have only allowed a total of 32 points in two games so far. The total has gone Under in 9 of Montreal's last 12 games. Ottawa is 6-1 to the Under in the first month of June. This will be a close tight game with a lot of failed drives so taking Under the Total makes sense.
