This game is going to feature a revamped Hurricanes team that acquired QB Cam Ward in the portal and a ton of talent to head up the offense against the Florida Gators at home in the swamp. Florida has been a tough team at home to beat. Miami is only 7-15 against the spread as a road favorite. QB Graham Mertz returns and leads the Gators offense. Miami started off last season strong with so much promise and fizzled out in the second half. They have made significant improvements on offense and defense but their biggest hurdle this season is to show some follow through into this third season. The Gators have improved on their defense from last season and the Gators have a chance in this game if they can penetrate the Hurricane’s secondary and make gains. Miami has the better pieces and talent on paper but they have to show it on the field, while the Gators have more continuity as a team. Florida has a history of playing Miami close, and this will be a tight hard fought game in a tough hostile environment where Florida should have the edge at home in the swamp. Florida has won 34 consecutive home openers and this is the second time they are underdogs at home. Getting any points makes sense.
