LA Lakers vs Memphis (Grizz ML): BEST BET NBA
(NBA) LA Lakers vs. Memphis,
Money Line: 102.00 Memphis (Home)
Result: Win
Slow your roll, Lakers backers — I'm backing Memphis to win SU on Wednesday to even up the series. The Grizzlies can still be dangerous without Ja Morant, whose status for game two is up in the air following a hand injury in the first game. Sure, Los Angeles will have an edge if the Memphis star can't suit up, but overlook this Grizzlies team at your own peril.

Memphis has shown it can win with Tyus Jones starting, proving it's a collective unit, not a group of role players riding Morant's coattails. In game two, I expect the Grizz to show some urgency at home. Desmond Bane will shoot better than 3-for-10 from beyond the arc, Luke Kennard will be more aggressive, Jaren Jackson Jr. will play the leading role, and Tyus Jones, who led the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio for the fifth-straight season, will run the show.

I can't bet on repeat performances from Rui Hachimura (29 points on 11-of-14 shooting) and Austin Reaves (23 points on 8-of-13 shooting) in game two. Reaves scored ten straight points in crunch time — that's not happening twice in two games. It's likely LA will own an advantage on the glass again, but I expect Jaren Jackson to do a better job in the defensive rebounding department, too.

This game could be boring if Anthony Davis and LeBron James dominate, while LA's bench thrives off of their energy. But if Memphis is the hard-nosed team I feel they are, they'll show up to this game like it's a title fight.

Bet on the home team to come up clutch down the stretch on Wednesday night in Memphis. If you've tailed my NBA Best Bets recently, we've won when the public dissed Sacramento... TWICE. We've won betting for AND against Chicago and Miami. I'm extremely confident in my Tuesday best bet, too. Let's keep rolling Wednesday — we're just getting started!!
