Total: 44.50 | -112.00 Under
Result: Win
Rutgers won big without an impressive offense last week against Northwestern, averaging only 3.9 yards per play and 2.7 yards per carry. The Scarlet Knights put up only 3.6 yards per carry last season (122nd in EPA/Rush), and the o-line could struggle against the Owls' front seven. Temple gave up only 2.6 yards per carry and 4.9 yards per play total last week vs. Akron. They return nine starters from a defense that was 27th in Havoc and 56th in explosiveness in 2022. Forcing Rutgers QB Gavin Wimsatt to beat you is not a bad game plan, anyway. He threw for only 163 yards on 29 attempts (5.6 yards per attempt) vs. the Wildcats last week.

As for the Owls' offense, it looks like it will struggle to run the ball on the road. RU's front seven gave up only 3.2 yards per play and held NU to 12 yards on the ground. Temple is inexperienced on the o-line and averaged just 3.1 yards per carry last season. The former Miami DC and current Rutgers HC Greg Schiano is a defensive-minded coach who will have his team ready to gut out a victory. This is a winnable game for Rutgers — something the Knights haven't done much of since joining the Big Ten...

Bet on a low-scoring game on Saturday in Piscataway. I feel there is value in a wager on the under, as I'm predicting 40-41 total points between these teams!
