Betting Trends: The under is 41-29-5 in Toronto's home games and 40-32-3 in the Yankees' road games.
I'm wagering five units on the under at 7.5 total runs in Wednesday night's Yankees-Blue Jays game.
The Yanks will struggle against Jose BerrĂos, as I feel confident the recency of his last outing against them will work in his favor. With that outing fresh on his mind, he will fine-tune his game plan, holding New York's bats in check for six innings. Once he exits, I'm confident the Blue Jays bullpen (sixth-lowest ERA and fourth-lowest WHIP in MLB) will finish the job. New York hasn't averaged more than four runs in a month since May.
I don't expect Toronto to break out offensively against Gerrit Cole, who will be making his final start of the season. He's likely to win his first-ever Cy Young and will be looking to put the bow on his 2023 campaign. I would be surprised if he gave up more than two runs to a Blue Jays lineup that has underperformed at home (4.1 runs/game) all season (4.9 runs/game away from Rogers Centre).
I expect a tightly contested pitcher's duel with two quality starters and top-notch bullpens facing off in Toronto.
