I feel that this total gives too much power to the pitching matchup, as I don't feel comfortable betting on both starters to turn in quality starts on Thursday. Cole Ragans is the more dependable bet of the bunch, as he's held ten of his last 11 opponents to three or fewer earned runs. I don't expect Sawyer Gipson-Long will go toe-to-toe with him on the rubber, though, as the Royals are scorching hot, scoring 5.6 runs per game in September.

These teams are low-scoring, but betting on six or fewer runs seems unlikely to be a winning wager. If the total was at 7.5, I could see an argument for the under, but at seven, I feel there is no justification for it. Instead, I'll place a five-unit wager on the total to reach eight-plus combined runs.
