Creighton vs Nebraska (Huskers +3)
(NCAAB) Creighton vs. Nebraska,
Point Spread: 3.00 | -110.00 Nebraska (Home)
Result: Loss
The Cornhuskers have played a weak schedule (353rd-toughest, per KenPom), and while one could make the argument that this game being their first real test puts them at a disadvantage, I feel the opposite. The easy run of opponents has allowed Nebraska to gel, giving it confidence heading into a matchup with a top-15 team. The Huskers have also enjoyed a full week off, while Creighton has played and lost to a tough Colorado State and faced Oklahoma State on Thursday.

The Blue Jays are more battle-tested, but I feel that makes them vulnerable in this situation. Expect the Huskers to capitalize on this by mimicking the Rams' game plan: win the rebounding battle and make Creighton work on every possession. Nebraska (20th in rebounds per game) can get that done, as it's forcing its opponents outside of the paint — its opponents attempt just 21.1% of their shots at the rim. With 41.6% of their shots coming from the mid-range and 37.3 percent coming from three-point range, Nebraska's opponents are not getting easy buckets, unsurprisingly resulting in low shooting percentages (36.1 FG% and 26.2 3PT%).

The Cornhuskers are an upperclassmen-led team with several scoring options. The transfer portal additions, Mast (Bradley) and Williams (Charlotte), have taken NU up a level. On Sunday, I am confident the Huskers will play inspired basketball, covering the three-point spread against their in-state rival!
