Betting Trend: The under is 8-0 in Washington’s last eight September games as an underdog.
I predict a final score of 24-17 in Friday's Big Ten battle between the Dawgs and the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers has a balanced offensive attack but can rely on its rushing attack when it needs. I expect that to be the case in this matchup, especially in the second half. I don't anticipate RU bowling over UW on offense, either. The Huskies have been stout on third down and in the red zone, where Rutgers needs to be more efficient.
Both teams have taken good care of the football in 2024, and that's unlikely to change on Friday in Piscataway. Rutgers should force a turnover or two, but it won't result in a boatload of points. Washington averaged only 5.6 yards per play last week, strolling to gain traction on the ground, and this Knights' defense is better than the Wildcats' unit.
There will be some scoring and fun, back-and-forth action, but ultimately, this game projects to be lower-scoring than most college football contests this weekend. Bet on the total to be under 44.5 points on Friday night in the House That Schiano Built!
