SF-SEA OVER 49: TNF BEST BET
(NFL) 49ers (SF) vs. Seahawks (SEA),
Total: 49.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Win
Betting Trends: The over is 33-17-2 when the 49ers have been favored by 3.5 to 9.5 points under Kyle Shanahan and 12-8-1 Over/Under when Shanahan's teams visit divisional rivals since 2017. The over is also 4-1 in Seattle's games this season.

Seattle's defense will struggle against San Francisco tonight. The Seahawks were dominant defensively in the first two weeks, but they haven't looked so good when facing QBs better than the likes of Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett and Skylar Thompson/Tim Boyle. They have an EPA per play allowed of 0.188 over the last two weeks, which is higher than the Rams' season average of 0.165, which is the worst in NFL. Detroit had success moving the ball through the air against Seattle and Brock Purdy should do the same. The running game is still strong with Jordan Mason (536 rushing yards and three TDs) filling in for Christian McCaffrey, as well. With Seattle dealing with injuries (edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu, first-round rookie DT Byron Murphy and CB Tariq Woolen) during a short week, it looks vulnerable.

I'm also betting on the 49ers to cover the spread. The Niners should get out to a sizable lead, which will push the Seahawks into a pass-happy approach that should lead to more points. Seattle has been pass-heavy as it is, ranking 1st in the NFL in pass rate over expected (+7.7% PROE). The home team certainly isn't lacking pass-catchers, with DK Metcalf, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tyler Lockett lining up, and RB Kenneth Walker is a bull in a china shop with the football in his hands. SF is also dealing with injuries on the defensive side of the ball, as it's without S Talanoa Hufanga, LB Dre Greenlaw and DT Javon Hargrave, and could be without CB Charvarious Ward tonight.
