I'm a firm believer in this Syracuse team and believe they will easily cover on Saturday at NC State.
The Wolfpack are coming off a tiring, troublesome loss to Wake Forest. QB Grayson McCall suffered a serious head injury, but his replacement, freshman CJ Bailey, had a solid game in relief, going 28-for-42 passing for 272 yards, 2 TDs and an INT. NC State has struggled with miscues, though, as a fumble at the 2-yard line on the opening drive of the game was too costly to overcome. The Wolfpack rank 128th in Havoc Allowed this season, allowing 9.0 sacks and 48 tackles for loss, second-most in the country. They have also committed ten turnovers. Their QBs have been pressured on 66 of their 218 dropbacks, which is a cause for concern against a good Syracuse pass rush (top-20 in PFF's pass-rush grading).
The Orange have a great QB1 in Ohio State transfer Kyle McCord (1,814 passing yards and 17 TDs), a top-tier RB in junior LeQuint Allen (358 rushing yards with a 4.9 YPC AVG) and five pass-catchers with at least 200 receiving yards (three with 300-plus). Syracuse also ranks 30th in Havoc Allowed. I feel confident the visitors will easily cover on Saturday, and with the line at 3.5, it's a no-brainer best bet for me!
