I love the over in Saturday's SEC clash between the Gamecocks and the Crimson Tide.
South Carolina will have success on the ground against an Alabama defense that has been underwhelming this season and cost them the game last week at Vanderbilt. The Tide doesn't defend the run well, especially against mobile QBs, which has left the secondary vulnerable. Carson Beck and Diego Pavia torched them through the air in their last two games and USF QB Byrum Brown gashed them for 108 rushing yards earlier in the year. South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers isn't a polished passer, but he's a dual-threat option. He and RB Rahiem Sanders (4.8 YPC) will be tough to slow down on the ground. South Carolina has a good offensive line and should be able to move the Tide's front in short-yardage situations to move the chains, as the Commodores did (12-for-18 on third down).
The Alabama offense will have a field day tomorrow, as well. QB Jalen Milroe is averaging 11.6 yards per attempt with an 82.7% adjusted completion percentage, putting him in the discussion for the Heisman trophy. He should hook up early and often with freshman WR Ryan Williams, who is averaging 28.6 yards per catch with six touchdowns. I also expect the Crimson Tide to run the football effectively against a Gamecocks front that ranks 78th in Rush Success Rate allowed, 76th in Defensive Line Yards and 102nd in Stuff Rate.
The final total could be as high as 57-60 points, so I see room for the over to easily cash at 50.5.
