YANKEES ML: ALCS GM 3
(MLB) Yankees (NYY) vs. Guardians (CLE),
Money Line: -110.00 Yankees (NYY) (Away)
Result: Loss
I'm backing New York to send Cleveland to the brink of elimination tomorrow. The Guardians have looked overmatched in the first two games and a change of venue doesn't fix that. NY took advantage of several Guardians miscues in game two and Aaron Judge finally launched a long ball, which could be momentous for the Yanks' captain.

As for the pitching matchup, I favor Clarke Schmidt over Matthew Boyd. Schmidt had a fine regular season (2.85 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 16 starts) and gave the Yankees what they needed against KC in the ALDS, limiting the Royals two runs in about five innings. I expect him to turn in a similar performance tomorrow before handing the ball over to a Yanks' bullpen that has been reliable.

Boyd has been unsuccessful against New York, pitching to a 1-3 record with a 5.17 ERA in six career appearances. The current Yankees' lineup has a .405 OBP and .859 SLG in 33 combined career ABs, as both Judge and Juan Soto have taken him deep in just eight combined ABs.
