The Eagles are undervalued against an IU Indy team that has benefitted from some lucky long-range shooting against D-II teams and Xavier. They shot under 50 percent inside the arc in their 14-point loss to the Musketeers and were outrebounded, too.

Eastern Michigan needs to shoot the basketball much better than it did on opening night versus Texas State, but I believe it can and will. The Eagles have added several upperclassmen transfers, including guards Jalen Terry (Oregon/DePaul transfer) and Julian Lewis (Miami OH), and have a significant advantage in the frontcourt with Da’Sean Nelson (DePaul transfer) and Jalin Billingsley, who is averaging 20.0 PPG and 8.5 RPG this season. They held Texas State to 13-for-33 (39%) shooting from inside the arc and grabbed 14 offensive boards, which will be important in this matchup.

On top of that, IU Indy is the fifth-least experienced team in the country. I'm not sold on their shooting performances from three and believe they will lose straight-up to a veteran-led EMU squad on Thursday.
