Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson may share NFL MVP honors this season, but only the latter will win on Sunday.
The Ravens are the better team, plain and simple. They have been better offensively and rank 2nd by DVOA defensively since Week 9, while Buffalo does not match up well defensively against Baltimore's power run scheme. The Bills will be weak up the middle, as their LBs and safeties have been subpar this season. The Ravens had an explosive play on 25% of their plays (1st in NFL), while Buffalo ranked last in explosive plays allowed (10+ yards allowed on 24% of their plays). The Ravens had 14 explosive plays in the Week 4 matchup between these teams (35-10 Ravens win), as Derrick Henry got it started with an 87-yard TD run on his first carry. The Bills had just four explosive plays in that game.
This might be the "MVP game" on paper, but the Ravens have the better all-around team with nine Pro Bowlers (Bills have two). Josh Allen strikes fear in me, as he does in all bettors who don't take his side, but he isn't the only difference-maker in this game. Bet on the Ravens to cover!
